He was chairman of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs' HazMat committee for eight years and is a member of the Standing Committee on Hazardous Materials and Activities of the National Fire Code of Canada. He is now an Emergency Management consultant specializing in HazMat and Terrorism issues in his company, Gaade and Associates.
