Tony Mussorfiti served 23 years with Fire Department of New York as a Firefighter, Lieutenant, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Hazardous Materials Instructor. Along with Battalion Chief Robert Ingram, he established the FDNY Hazardous Materials Technician Training School and emergency response programs. Prior to his retirement, he was assigned to the FDNY Center for Terrorism and Domestic Preparedness, where he was involved with the development of response protocols for terrorist incidents. He has represented the FDNY as a member of the United States Department of Defense and Department of Justice Inter-Agency Board (IAB) Training & Exercise Sub-Group. Tony has been involved with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Hazardous Materials Training and International Counter-proliferation Program since its inception. He has served as a member of the technical committees responsible for the NFPA’s standard for response to hazardous materials incidents and ASTME 54, Standard Practice for Response to Radiological Emergencies. |
