The Gold Standard in Emergency Response Training
Emergency Film Group has reached a new pinnacle of success in its quest to provide emergency responders with effective tools in the fight against terrorism. One of their newest programs, Suicide Bomber, has already received a remarkable five awards for filmmaking excellence and training effectiveness.

The five awards include:

  • A prestigious Cine Golden Eagle for excellence in film production, signifying the program’s selection to represent the U.S. in overseas film festivals;
  • A Telly Award, honoring excellence in non-broadcast film productions;
  • A Golden Aurora Award, an international competition judged by panels of working film and video professionals that recognizes excellence in film and video
  • A Davey Award from the International Academy of the Visual Arts, dedicated to embracing progress in traditional and interactive media
  • A World Medal from the New York Festivals, which honors creativity and effectiveness in global communications through film.
Suicide Bomber, designed for bomb squads, law enforcement, fire departments, the military and emergency management personnel, teaches pre- and post-detonation response to suicide incidents. It provides important information to help communities reduce the impact of a suicide threat or attack on citizens and responders. It was created with the assistance of leading professionals in terrorism response, including Mike Hildebrand, of Hildebrand & Noll Consulting; Robert Meyer, former U.S. Navy Master Chief in ordinance disposal; Commander Tom Rancich, US Navy Seals (ret.); Aaron Richman, former Captain in the Israeli National Police force and now with the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response; Howard Simkin of Viking Alliance International, a military consulting company; and August Vernon, Security Contractor, Tactical Element, Mosul, Iraq. Filming took place in Ventura Cty., CA with the assistance of local emergency responders.

Emergency Film Group, along with its parent Detrick Lawrence Productions, has now won over 140 awards and honors in national and international competition. Gordon Massingham, winner of IAFC's "Level A" Lifetime Achievement Award, is Detrick Lawrence president and director of all Emergency Film Group productions.
