John is a 34-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Fire Department where he specialized in hazardous materials and flammable liquid firefighting. He works as a consultant and as an instructor with the California Office of Emergency Services. He numbers among his honors the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Continuing Challenge Conference and the California Specialized Training Institute.s Instructor of the Year.
