Steve has been a member of the Phoenix Fire Department since 1975. He started as a firefighter, promoted through the system, and is currently the Executive Assistant Chief of Fire Department Emergency Services. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University. He was an adjunct instructor at Arizona State University in the Fire Science Curriculum. Chief Kreis has served on the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Executive Board and is a Contributing Editor for Fire Engineering Magazine.
