In what may be a new twist on mass shooting scenarios, private militia groups are now training for combat and there is some concern among the FBI and Department of Homeland Security that those trained and indoctrinated for war may grow tired of waiting. Time Magazine's article, The Secret World of Extreme Militias, describes this new breed of fighters who are preparing to defend themselves and their communities without sanction of government. According to TIME, radical militia groups have been on the rise for the past two years. Members of these groups 'emphasize resistance to tyranny by force of arms and reject the idea that elections can fix what ails the country.'
