Weapons studied include improvised explosive devices (IEDs) such as letter bombs, pipe bombs and vehicle bombs; military weapons in civilian settings such as grenades, rocket launchers and surface-to-air missiles; nuclear weapons and radiological dispersal devices ("dirty" bombs); directed energy weapons such as lasers and radio frequency weapons; and non-lethal weapons.
